Best one yet!

I was pretty excited when Elemental Shining came out because I think, of all Maddy Edwards books, I like the characters in Paranormal Public the best. I care about what happens to Charlotte, Sip, Lisabelle, and Lough. I enjoy the opportunity for Keller to prove once again that he has no flaws. And it's always especially exciting to see what new characters will turn up in this book. And we get lots of new and interesting characters this time - a fallen angel girl as perfect as Keller, a pair of half-vampire, half-darkness mage twins who give whole new meaning to weird and creepy, and a new professor who always seemed kind of shady to me. The plot was also very engaging, with a mysterious attacker and an ever-encroaching demon threat. I think all in all, Elemental Shining is Maddy Edwards's best book so far.
But of course I cannot write a review without also pointing out what I didn't like about the book. The biggest thing was that I didn't understand why Charlotte was suddenly so bad at everything. I thought we had established in her freshman year that while she didn't know a lot about being an elemental, she was pretty powerful and a force to be reckoned with. But in Elemental Shining, she, well, isn't shining. I also got confused about the flow of time in the novel. A very large portion of the novel seems to take place during the first week of school, and I wasn't quite sure what day we were on. And finally, there was a dream scene near the beginning of the novel that didn't have anything to do with anything else.
All in all, though, I was very pleased with this latest installment of Paranormal Public, and I look forward to the next one.

Elemental Shining is book three of the Paranormal Public series by Maddy Edwards.
Back at Paranormal Public for sophomore year, Charlotte, Sip, Lisabelle, and Lough have some adjustments to make. The coming of two vampire hybrid twins throws even Lisabelle for a loop. The paranormal community is starting to call for Charlotte's death, and lay the demon attacks at her feet. Oh, and then there's Keller, everyone's favorite fallen angel who just might have a thing for the last elemental left. If he can get around his family.
Be prepared for more snarky commentary between now-roommates Sip and Lisabelle. More unrequited love from Lough. More stupid yet brave moves from Charlotte. In other words, what we've come to expect from our Paranormal Public crew!

The plot line is interesting but it's hard to follow ...

The plot line is interesting but it's hard to follow at times because the author goes off on tangents a never really gets back to her origins thought. The time line is horrid, say the it is early October then hopping back to September and then forward again. I also think the author talks about ideas that she has in her head but never put in the book which makes part of it confusing. I will keep reading the series but be warned that it doesn't always make sense
