Wonderful addition to the Mageri world.

I am a huge Dannika dark fan and love the world she has created, so when I saw this novella, I knew I had to read it. Of the many things I love about this story, one of the things I love the most is that it is a story in and of itself and you do not need to have reads her Impulse series to enjoy it. Why do I love that? Because it gives people an opportunity to dive into her world without the feeling that they are committing to a series. Mind you, you will probably want to read the series after reading this novella. There is some slight overlap in that one of the characters has a sibling in the Mageri series, but that will not cause any confusion when reading this story.
I do not know how to say what I want to say without giving too much away, so pardon my vagueness with this next bit. I think the way they initially communicate and get to know each other is what makes the story as powerful as it it. The situation is all kinds of messed up and yet these two people find each other and the possibility of happiness. Something each had given up on in the past.
The ending is brilliant. Not because it solves some big mystery, but because it is more realistic than I was afraid it would be and it leaves many doors open for the characters while at the same time being a very satisfying ending. I will admit that I hope we see these characters entering into the Impulse universe, but if they do not, I feel like I know enough.
This is not a YA read. It is for the 18 plus crowd. It is not graphic, but the content, especially how they meet, is not for younger readers. If you love this novella, please give her Mageri series a go. You will not be disappointed.

A summer must!

After reading Dannika Darks A Mageri Series and wating for book five I came across this wonderfully Brilliantly written story! Ms. Dark has a great sence of warmth, Passion and Hilarity that comes across with each character....A must Read!

Short, Great Read!

what a short, beautiful read.
I do not know why I was hesitant to read this. Maybe because I knew it was only a short (89 pages) novella? Or that I would be heavily invested in these characters in a few hours? Well that's exactly what the freak happened!!
Kane and Caroline's love blossoms quick, but steady. Readers get an insight on both Kane and Caroline. When Kane said goodbye to Caroline, my heart made a :( face
....just, just *sigh*
We do, however, get a HEA. Thank God!
I loved, loved it! But I was left with craving more
