Dancing Bare

A good enjoyable and thought-provoking read, as well as being nicely written. Having said this, I find an auto-biography is often overly self centered as it cannot be otherwise and have any truth or feeling put in it. When you read one (with tongue in cheek) you realize that it is to the authors benefit to do so or why write it at all? It takes a certain type of personality to put ones life in print for the world to see while doing some embellishing along the way to make it sound a lot better that it, no doubt, really was. Mr. Taylor's easy writing style makes for an interesting read. If one is going to read his works, this should be where one should start. The reader can get some understanding where the creation of some of his characters such as Sebastian and Jerek come from. He has, to his own admission, an off beat attitude about life and seems to have, at least on the surface, a centered awareness about himself and where he fits as an individual. This is an attribute that comes out strongly in his lead character's.We can empathize with his need to find a place where he feels comfortable and fulfilling with his life and perhaps what we all want most - someone to love and be loved in returned. The other thing I find unique about bio's is that you can't make most of this stuff up and if read with that in mind while chewing on that tongue that is still stuck in your cheek, it is well worth the time and effort. One of my own contentions is that I believe that everyone should write their own auto-biography. Reading it again after a few years you'll hardly recognize the person your reading about. Talk about self love!

While I found the writing too detailed in many areas, it was insightful to read about how traveling, and life in general, was in the 60's. However, that is where my positive review stops. I found Mr. Taylor's attitude very pompous and arrogant. He writes extensively about his body while down grading anyone that is older, chubbier, or homelier, etc. When he is having sex with someone, or performing sex acts for someone (like masturbating in front of the two girls), he acts like it is their privilege to be in his company. To make matters worse, he tries to convey to his readers how selfless he is by "helping" these poor, unwanted people! Mr. Taylor is entitled to his opinions, (it is his book after all), but I found his attitude to be unbearably shallow and overpowered the book. I'm sure some will like this book, but I'm not one of them. Thank God it was free!

A wonderful Story

This is the 2nd book I have read by Nancy Farrier. This book has the most enjoyable story about learning how to pray for self control and also the plan of salvation. Hardly ever can you find a clean book such as Sonoran Secret with such an interesting story. I enjoyed this so much, I didn't want to put it down. I would recommend it very highly to anyone. Thank you Nancy for writing this book. It blessed me so much. Becky Whitehead

The Best in the Series

I read this in the paperback edition and am absolutely delighted to be able to add it to my digital library. This book was the 4th book in the Sonoran Desert series and also the BEST of the 4. The other 3 were very good but this was my favorite. Definitely worth reading the other 3 to get to this one. It is on the top of my re-read list.

I've loved Ms. Farrier for so long and I'm thrilled that she now has two ebooks. All of her books are captivating with the style of writing and her message of Jesus Christ's love and gift of salvation. She might not be a well known author but for anyone who does find her books, you will never be disappointed.

A Dog Lover's Christmas

This book is designed that the left portion of the page tells which day of Christmas it is. The day is written in a large colorful font. There is also a picture of that day's items. Below the picture is a list of the previous days' items. On the right side of the page is a depiction of the entire list up to that point.

All of the drawings are detailed and original in style with all of the "items" being unique. This is not a cut and paste book. The writing itself for the most part matches the original song. However, trying to sing this version to the original tune becomes impossible with 2, 3, and 4. In the original 2 has 4 syllables, 3 has 3 syllables and 4 has 4 syllables. In this version 2 has 6 syllables, 3 has 4 syllables and 4 has 5 syllables. Since most people aren't buying this book to sing, but to see, this shouldn't be a major problem.

I would have loved to have given this a 4. The reason it didn't get a 4 was due to formatting issues. I looked on this both the Cloud Reader and the Kindle app on my 17" monitor. There was a major difference, with the Cloud Reader being better, as long as I gave sufficient time for the entire book to load. Otherwise it would take about 30 seconds for each page to load. The problem on the app version was that it showed two days at a time stacked on each other. While reading the left portion was OK, the right side become too compressed to see details on the later days. Should the formatting problems be fixed, I would gladly change my rating.

Not for the Kindle classic

This is not set up to be a good Kindle read. The story could be cute but with the size and picture issues it is not possible to read or enjoy this book like it should be.

Are You Ready For Some Christmas?

The last of my bulk Christmas reviews for this year (some books for free if you act fast!) I fancy myself more a dog lover and seeing the entire collection of dogs at the very end was mind-numbing!
